The Axio Observer is a research-grade inverted microscope from Zeiss designed for advanced materials analysis, metallography, and R&D applications. Built as a flexible, future-ready platform, it combines high-performance optics, automation, and modularity to meet demanding laboratory requirements.
Featuring an apochromatically corrected beam path, the system delivers exceptional resolution, contrast, and uniform illumination across all imaging methods, including brightfield, darkfield, polarization, DIC, and fluorescence. Automated components—such as contrast and light management systems—ensure consistent, reproducible results with minimal manual adjustment.
The intuitive operating concept includes touchscreen or LCD control, remote operation via docking station, and Automatic Component Recognition (ACR), which streamlines workflow and reduces setup errors. A wide range of objectives, cameras, stages, and AxioVision imaging software modules allows full customization for specific applications.
Available in three configurations (A1m, D1m, Z1m), the Axio Observer scales from entry-level to fully motorized systems, offering a robust, upgradeable solution for evolving materials research needs.

Details
Quick Slide Vice – can be positioned anywhere along the T-slots, and allow samples up to 3″ (76 mm) deep to be secured.
Chamber Cleaning – simply adjust the valve to redirect coolant from the blade to the cleaning hose.
Vertical Adjusting Clamp – can be positioned in any orientation throughout the T-slots in the tables.
