Todd began his Martindale career in 1995 and is a Vice President of the firm. He provides senior leadership, develops new employees, and manages clients’ audits and compliance projects, including joint venture, royalty, revenue, and post-production cost reviews. Todd also manages royalty, ad valorem and severance tax, and other projects for numerous Counties, States, and other governmental entities. He also provides expert witness and litigation support.
Todd’s expertise includes:
- Served as an expert in State court on subjects including joint venture and revenue claims, gas balancing, royalty disputes, and custom and practice in applying exploration agreements, joint operating agreements, and Accounting Procedure provisions in oil and gas operations
- Overseeing audits for U.S. and international joint venture projects, and has conducted reviews in Brazil and Indonesia
- Overseeing audits for revenue, royalty, midstream and gas plant projects
- Overseeing vendor compliance reviews
- Overseeing client in-house projects on Accounting Procedure applications for various joint venture issues
- Todd is a regular speaker at National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) national and regional conferences, sharing his lease compliance, royalty, allowed deductions, etc. expertise.
Todd’s active COPAS participation includes the Co-chair for the COPAS Accounting Guideline 21 (Revenue Audit Protocols) drafting team, serving on other COPAS publication drafting teams, and providing leadership as Chair of the COPAS – Oklahoma City Society Audit Committee.
Todd is a 1989 graduate of Oklahoma State University (Business) and a 1995 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma (Accounting).
