Kody began his Martindale career in 2008 after earning a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. Kody also has an MBA from Oklahoma State University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Kody has developed expertise in leading and managing numerous projects, including:
- Managing various audits and special projects, including:
- Onshore and offshore expenditure audits
- Royalty and revenue audits
- Governmental royalties
- Net profits audits
- Royalty trust audits
- Vendor transaction reviews
- Fraud and forensic accounting
- Internal control reviews
- Oil and gas ad valorem tax analysis and reviews for numerous governmental agencies
Kody also provides support management and liaison services for clients’ back-office services, such as joint interest billings creation, revenue distributions, royalty processing, accounts payable, DOI management, and owner relations
Kody is instrumental in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships, and his ability to adroitly handle complex, multi-faceted projects allows Martindale to deliver exemplary client experiences in our ever-evolving industry.
Kody is an active member of the COPAS – Oklahoma City Society and served on the drafting team for COPAS Accounting Guideline 21 (Revenue Audit Protocols). He is an active member of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) and the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Kody also edits “Industry News,” a collection of published news articles, for the quarterly COPAS ACCOUNTS magazine.
